hi
i made an intake for my 13mm SHA...
so, the problem is:
the intake-tube is a copper-tube, 13/15mm
the mouth in the carb is a bit bigger, so i have to find a piece to clear it...
i tried a little piece of .5mm steel, it fitted perfectly but it gave an airleak...
at the moment i´m trying seal-paper, didn´t test for airleaks but sounds much better...

any idea for other materials?

greetings,
mr.moby (with new motor:)))))très puissant

This is to make an adaptor to go from 15mm outside diameter to 18mm inside diameter for the clamp on the back of the SHA. You can use a short piece of pvc plumbing supply line tubing and slit it down the center and wrap it until the ends butt together in a single layer, if you do a second layer butt the ends 180 degrees from the previous butt joint. Under compression it should not leak.
There is a variety of adaptors from most places which supply Dellorto carbs.

Den passenden ASS kriegst bei Mopshop, Mr. Moby. Fuer den Preis lohnt es sich nicht was selber zu basteln...

http://www.mopshop.de/shop/product_info ... 526dbabe11

Sorry I should have been more specific by mentioning that you should try [Rigid Schedule 40 PVC hose, which you can google the picture to find what I am suggesting. This would probably have a different description in Europe. It is a semi-hard plastic thinwall tubing similar to teflon plastic but easier to work. This will make a good adaptor and will not fail under vibration. However if vibration is an issue you could make a brace to the clamp screw of the Dellorto airbox to one of the carter bolts. The brace will reduce the carb from jumping off the intake as it would not be wagging separately from the engine.

so ,my last try was a pvc-tube (grey one, about 1.8cm)...
i worked it a bit and finally i added a ring of seal-paper and it works well.
the carb is very tight on the intake, and it´s no or a very tiny airleak...
(wd-40 sprayed on the spot with running motor, rpm is nearly constant...)

i will add some fuel-resistent seal-paste...
but for the moment it´s ok.

i found out that about 35kmh is a nice speed for breaking in, motor sounds healthy.
if i go to 40kmh+ , it gets loud and hard...

Excellent - keep the rpm at midrange where the motor feels comfortable and not stressed but occasionally pick up the pace a bit and also let it go down slow and bring up the speed to top speed. It needs a bit of excercise to work in the rings but not stress.
