Hi everyone!

As well as a Mobylette my Mum has an old 2CV6 Charlestone but for the last 10 years it has been in a garage roughly a 1 hour 10 minute drive away from our house. neither of our cars have tow bars and we are reluctant to get them fitted, so I was wondering if anyone could recommend a service and also give us a ball park figure of what it would cost to get her brought back home so we can restore her?

thanks,
Dan

Where are you? I know a couple of people who I've used before, but not very helpful if you are miles away from them!

It's roughly £1/mile one-way.

I've no idea about cost - I just hired a trailer as dads got a towbar, but i'm sure there must be lots of places around. Have you googled it?
Could you just tie it to another car and tow it that way (As in having a person driving each car), I don't know about the legality of that though...
Will you be posting it's restoration here? :D

yeah well we havent got a tow bar unfortunately and dad doest particularly want one, the 2cvs in a bad way and needs trailering really, definately not nearly road legal but I have no idea about brakes or steering and the tyres have been deflated for over ten years so thy will probably fall to pieces if you tried to tow the car. Id do that if its not very far, but 70 miles with a long motorway stretch  lol i think not :)

of course Ill post the resto here! it should be good fun. use to be used every day until we moved and she got put into store and we have barely thought about it but now I am determined to get it home and have her running again!
just to wet your appetites, shes a red and black 2cv6 charleston just like this one:

Transport is sometimes tricky - we have some mopeds 'in limbo' for a while - I am hoping someone will be driving a van down from up north with some space to spare and we can have them go along for the ride.
