Anyone had experience installing a Moby SIM exhaust? I tried to put one on to my 50v and for some reason the pipe rubs against the outside of the variator pulley which makes it impossible to start the bike. Seems to me the pipe was not welded together properly. Also, the mounting arm does not line up with the bracket on the underside of the bike. I know that there is inevitably some inconsistencies in these after-market exhausts but I don’t know if this pipe is going to mount up at all. I would love to see a pic of one installed under a bike to see how you did it. Thanks!

That is the first I ever heard of that fit problem on a SIM silencer, they do sit lower then the straight expansion chambers so heavier people find they scrape the ground a bit. I think you need to contact the place where you bought it and see if they will exchange it. Possibly you have one of the few defective ones.

I hope to return it and get another one, I think it is a mess up. Does anyone have a good feel for the proper jetting range if using this pipe?

Oops,
It is a DellOrto 15/15 Carb. Since I fixed the loose intake nuts and the bad exhaust gasket the bike runs slower and the plug looks like it is rich. However I am switching over to the SIM pipe so maybe the stock jet in the Dellorto (68?) will work alright. If I stick with the stock exhaust I think I need to down jet to something in the high 50's - low 60's range, that seem ok? I guess the plug and the performance are the best gauge.

With the SHA15:15 stock every-thing-else you would want to have a #57 - #59 main. The SIM silencer might need upper 60 or even lower 70 depends on if you have played with the restrictor in the silencer section of the pipe. The best method to jet your bike is to get jets within the range of what others have suggested and put in bigger and bigger until the bike starts to four stroke when hat soaked and running full throttle. Then go down by two numbers and you are set and should have the beautiful dark chocolate brown on the plug except for the electrode where it should be just darkened metal.

My pipe went on the right side under the padal and wasn't a problem, I'll get a pic in a day ir two.

Still have to make an extension to bolt the bracket to the frame.
