hey its ryan here, just wondering about upgrades i can do on my moby for more power? i just finished cleaning and rebuilding my carb, so hopefully i gain some power from that, a new belt helped, im aware of the muffler mods, but the one thing about my moby that is remarkable is how quite it is, so id like to keep it that way, but other than that what can i do?

maybe someone could wright out a list for me of things i can do, maybe a bit leaner? im on 32:1 and it seams lean enough, i dont want to compromise power for reliability,

I found out this weekend that buying high performance gas improves speed and quickness of the moby. We mixed regular gas this weekend and my moby ran sluggish. We put in special high performance gas the last time we mixed and it was a lot better. Only a couple gas stations in our area sell it.

well it all depends on your engine, higher octane is fore higher compression engines, because the combustibility of the gas changes when its under pressure, so 81 octane may run great on a 7:1 engine, but like crap on a 13:1 engine, but it’s the same in the reverse. 91 octane will run great in a 10:1 engine, but wont combust properly at all in a lower compression 6:1 engine, it will ping and knock, my Moby is not a high compression engine, I haven’t checked but I assume anywhere from 6:1 to 7.5:1. so high octane is actually bad, what bike is yours? If you do have a low compression engine maybe it runs better on high octane because the other gas was old?
